The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, including spectacular additional brass, woodwind and percussion, are joined by the combined Goldsmiths Choral Union and Brighton Festival Chorus for what promises to be one almighty concert featuring Berlioz's Grande Messe des Morts.
Berlioz, who already was no stranger to the opportunities of grandeur and the sense of occasion, wrote this tour de force piece in commemoration of the second French Revolution of 1830.
Brian Wright, also no stranger to this momentous Requiem and the Music Director of Goldsmiths Choral Union, will command his way in the ideal setting of the Royal Albert Hall. With over 500 performers on stage, Berlioz's vision of the last judgment, will be a night not to miss.
"The pride of the Festival was the magnificent "Requiem" conducted by Brian Wright ... an interpretation which revealed the bleak beauty of the work as few in my experience have done" Sunday Times (BBCSO)
